From our distribution centre in Leeds and our head office on Brompton Road London Perry Uniform have opened two showrooms.

Situated on Beauchamp Place at the junction with Brompton Road, Perry’s London showroom is conveniently located for families from overseas travelling through London, on their way to schools in the UK. The purpose of our showroom’s is to offer personal advice by appointment (book on line via our website) to parents with children starting at school. At the showroom we carry sizing samples enabling our trained uniform advisers to offer a personal service which allows for parents to bring their child to be measured for the first time or re-measured for new uniform. Any orders the parent wishes to place can be managed online during the appointment and the items will be delivered direct to the Parents’ home or directly to school if more convenient. Our aim with this service is to offer friendly assistance and also to expedite arrangements for parents who make last minute decisions to enroll their child at school.

Work Experience

Perry Uniform welcomed two bright young sparks from Fulneck School in Pudsey and  Skipton Girls Grammar this week to engage in five days of work experience. Hetty and Ellie had the opportunity to design and make their own fitted blazers in the factory, where they displayed great enthusiasm. Supported by Carra, the two girls documented their progress by writing a daily diary which they then presented to staff at Perry Uniform, teachers and parents at the end of the week. They also produced a powerpoint presentation containing photographs of their activity throughout the manufacturing process.

We hope that their exposure to the workplace has opened their eyes to the Textiles industry and provided them with a lasting impression so that they can look forward to their future careers.

New Captain steps off the first tee in style

Eric Hadfield, the new incoming Captain of The Northern Golf Club

When Ric Thompson, Bursar at Liverpool College, came upon Perry’s stand at the Independent School Bursar’s Association Annual Conference recently, he was struck by our Made in England stripe blazer.
Could we make a special club blazer for him, as the outgoing Captain of The Northern Golf Club, to present to Eric Hadfield, the new incoming Captain, at their annual dinner in 7 days time?

Always keen to rise to the challenge, Perry designed and manufactured the illustrated blazer from 100% wool cloth within 48 hours! Commenting Ric said “The blazer I handed to our new captain was received with surprise and wonderment – a great success.”

Matilda

Congratulations to the cast of Matilda on winning 7 Olivier Awards at The Royal Opera House, London last night (April 15 2012). Among the awards was Best Actress for the quartet of young stars playing the title character, Matilda. Perry Uniform are proud to have designed and made the school uniform for the cast of this hugely popular West End musical.

Leeds Ahead

Nigel Jackson, Operational Controller of Perry Uniform accompanies Carra Grieve at Swallow Hill Community College

Perry Uniform were invited by Leeds Ahead, a social enterprise based in Leeds, to join other Leeds based employers - Lloyds Banking Group, Farnell and Arena, to offer a careers open day to Year 10 and 11 students from the fast improving Swallow Hill Community College (SHCC).

SHCC is based in Armley, close to the Perry Uniform distribution centre, where a high proportion of students are housed in areas of significant deprivation and 49% of students are living in an area ranked in the top 10% most deprived areas in England (IMD). One of the headline speakers was Perry staff member, Carra Grieve, recently anointed Leeds City Council apprentice of the Year. Carra talked about her first 18 months in work after leaving Leeds West Academy in 2010.

Announcing the new Eaton Square School Cricket Kit

Eaton Square School is introducing a new cricket kit which is to be worn by boys in Year 4 to Year 8. Samples are in production and will be available to see at the school shortly. Illustrations of the final designs are:

In the summer term of 2012 it will be compulsory for all Year 4 boys to wear the cricket uniform, whilst it will be compulsory for the remaining year groups in 2013. A Perry Uniform Representative will be at Eaton Square School on Wednesday 29^th February to measure boys in Year 4 to determine the sizes required. A letter will be sent home that evening advising you on the sizes you will need to order. To ensure you get your cricket kit for the beginning of the summer term, orders must be placed by Wednesday 7^th March.

Delivery of your order will be arriving during the Easter holidays. If your child is in Year 5 to Year 8 and you would like them to have the new cricket kit for this summer please can you either contact customer services on 0113 238 9520 or email info@perryuniform.co.uk. Our sizing representative will make sure they measure your son on the 29^th February.
